Vampire Diaries drinking game

A while ago I found a nice drinking game of Hawii five-0:

I wanted to make one myself. 'Cougar town' was one of my choices but I couldn't find enough moments.
Supernatural has a ton of them but I'm not really sure I'll be watching it next season.
I do love 'The Vampire Diaries" though and that show has a lot of drinking moments.
It took a couple of hours and a few swear words and voila!

Be prepared to get very drunk!

Prince at the North Sea Jazz Festival July 9th 2011

I went to see Prince in concert. He had the night shift at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Well it was technically a morning concert, because he started at 2 am and finished at 4 am. I was back home at 5 am and enjoyed a lovely sunrise.

He wasn't invited to participate at the festival, but asked if he could join and off course they said yes.  He gave a concert for each of the three nights of the festival.
I went the second night, which turned out to be lucky for me, because the first night had some problems. The sound was very loud, so loud that a lot of people left because of it. Prince was deliberating with the sound guy during the concert. He apologized for the bad sound and lighting during the concert I attended. I found it still a tad too loud, but I brought my wax earplugs. My ears were thankful for that, because there was no ringing in my ears.

There were a lot of hardcore fans, who parked their bums for the entrance 12 hours before the concert actually started. I arrived 3 hours before the start and still stood 8 metres from the podium.
It was a great concert. I heard a couple complains, because he didn't do his greatest hits. I didn't mind, because as far as I'm concerned he can sing the phone book and it still will turn out great.
The only remarks I have:
-he did a lot of covers,
-his ( gorgeous)  back up singer sang two whole songs,
-Seal  was politely relieved of the singing duty by Prince with a "Thank you brother" after singing one verse. He was off key and didn't know the lyrics.
-I heard Prince played a lot of funk yesterday and sadly there was a lot of rock and too little FUNK today!
Best songs of the night were "The love we make" with a fantastic guitar solo and "Baby I'm a star" which brought down the house.

-Joy In Repetition with Maceo Parker
-The Love We Make
-Mountains with Seal
-Come Together
-Alphabet St.
-Dear Mr. Man
-I Want You Back
-When We're Dancing Close and Slow
-*unidentified duet*
-The Look Of Love
-I Like It There
-Colonized Mind
-Encore 1:  Johnny B. Goode (over Peach music)
-Encore 2:  The Beautiful Ones
-Encore 3: Dance (Disco Heat)
-Baby I'm A Star

Prince also made this remark to the audience members, who were recording the show with their camera's:
‘Put your camera down and participate!’, nice to know I'm not the only one who has this opinion.

Here is a piece of heaven: "The love we make" (not mine ;) )

He will be giving another concert in August in the Ahoy, hasn't sold out yet. Really, really , really want to go, but have to check with my financial advisor first. :)

longboard girls crew

Found this nice clip of a crew of girls having fun on their Longboards.  It's filmed in Madrid. I would love to be able to this, it looks like a lot of fun!

One of my favourite songs is "Forever Young" by Youth Group. I also like the clip a lot, it's got a very summery feel to it, one Longboarder and a lot of young skater's.

Prince, terrarium

Spent a couple hours behind my computer today, had to endure server crashing, waiting in line in order to get thrown out again and again and again. But I got a ticket for Prince!
Concert will start at 1 AM, that is 01.00 hours (well that's the starting time on the ticket anyway), hopefully he will be playing long enough for me to enjoy a nice sunrise.

Had a little time on my hands last week and decided to make a terrarium. I saw some nice ones in the BBC "North And South" series, but I started with a simple one.
There's a vern, a "Happy Bean" (peperomia 'amigo greensplit' ) and a plant which name I can't remember,  instead of  potting soil I  used coconut husk. I forgot the charcoal, but maybe add it later. For now the plants seem to be doing well.

End product looks like this:

vintage travel posters

The sun is shining, there are blossoms in the trees. It's a new dawn. It's a new day. It's a new life, for me and I'm feeling good.
The lovely weather has me thinking of a nice summer vacation. I love vintage travel posters, because it sets the mood with a single image.
These ones are by David Klein,

Don't know who made this, but I like the simple lines and colour.

Cruise season is starting again. The new ships look like floating blocks of flats,  but the older models (like the Queen Elizabeth II) always looked great and glamorous. So do the posters.

These posters of the make believe world of Firefly are very nice too.

Tomorrow is the wedding of weddings, I will be watching. Queen Beatrix will not be attending , because the day after it's Queen's Day!
If you ever want to visit the Netherlands, plan your vacation around Queen's day. *Unless you're allergic to the colour orange and big crowds*

Kylie, HMH, Amsterdam, Aphrodite tour 2011

Went to her concert last night. It was great. It was a small venue and the stage took almost 1/2 of the place and it wasn't sold out.
She deserves a bigger audience, but I liked the fact that I could see her up close and that it felt intimate .
I already saw pictures of her costumes and they looked gorgeous on the stage. Lots of glitter and feathers and bit of horse fetish costume for the male dancers.
Also like the good sense of Kylie and her team to dress up the male dancers in as little as possible. And the little fabric that they were wearing, was  tight in all the right places. I couldn't get my eyes of the gorgeous build dancers bodies.

Kylie, ugly hats and northern light

The first pictures of  Kylie's Aphrodite tour are in. She obviously doesn't adhere to the "less is more" philosophy of style.
Bow down to the Goddess Kylie. I'll be doing that in a fortnight.
first attempt to a lj-cutCollapse )
And since Tom Hardy and Idris Elba are already claimed, Timothy Olyphant will be the first addition to my harem.:)Read more...Collapse )

My lay-out sucks!

SIGH!  I think I need a course in making a good lay-out, because right now, it doesn't turn out how I want it to be!!!

Being Human gifs

I saw episode 3 of Being Human, the original, last night.  I'm glad, smell tv doesn't exist. The sight alone of the dripping zombie had me gagging. I also collected a couple of nice gifs from this and previous episodes.

I love this character and the actress that played her.

Happy Mitchell makes me happy.

I also like hugs.

Wouldn't mind a hug from Tom.

Mitchell, Mitchell, Mitchell, confessions are for priests, that's what they are there for.

And la  pièce de résistance * the only upside to the short seasons of UK series is, that you don't have to wait 80 episodes for a kiss*

I'm still in the "the Being Human UK is miles better, than the US version" camp, but I keep watching the US version to see the new/original story lines.
